Demonstrative Pronouns ------- this / that/ these / those
----------refer to something specific.
‘This / That ’ refers to anything Singular in number.
‘These / Those ’ refers to anything Plural
in number.

Singular in number near to us, we use ‘this’; far from us, we use ‘that’.
