Topic 3             Simple Present Tense    (Negative -)

A.  Verb-to-be 
     [S] am / is / are ---------------------- ( Positive + )
     [S] am / is / are not ------------------ (Negative - )

    In Negative statements, ‘not’ is always put after ‘am / is / are’.
    [S] stands for the Subject which can be replaced by P1 (Personal  Pronouns)        

B.  Ordinary Verb
     [He /She /It] F1 + s / es  ---------------------- ( + )
     [He /She /It] doesn’t  F1  ----------------------- ( - )

     [I /We /You /You /They] F1 -------------------- ( + )   
     [I /We /You /You /They] don’t F1 -------------- ( - )
    

     I am Rita.
     I am not Lita.
     I like to collect stamps.
     I don’t like to collect coins.

     You are Paul.
     You are not Peter.
     You read every day.
     You don’t write every day.

      Lucy is a pupil.
      She is not a teacher.
      She plays basketball every Wednesday afternoon.
      She doesn’t play baseball every Wednesday afternoon.

      This is a hamster.
      This is not a mouse.
      It eats a lot every day.
      It doesn’t drink a lot every day.

      Nora and her friends are active.
      They are not naughty.
      They run and jump a lot every day.     
      They don’t shout a lot every day.                                         (8)
